October 3rd Picks

Sorry such a late post today. I was trying to find something worth putting up and I only see one game I think I will risk my moderate W3 on. Before I go into that pick though, here are my results/comments on the first couple days into the month.

October 1st pick results

#15 Baylor- lost 36-35
 #3 Alabama- Won 38-10

October 2nd pick results

Buffalo Bills- lost 23-20
Washington Redskins- Won 17-10

Overall blog record this month 2-2

 Off to a bit of a rough start after both Baylor and Buffalo gave up significant 2nd half leads. Both games were unfortunate loses. Alabama looked good against Florida by romping on them by much more than favored. The Redskins looked good as well after a 17-10 win. Yesterday I also went with Baltimore as a last-minute pick to finish my day and it payed off as they dominated the Jets 34-17.


 Here is a game I like so far...

 Pick #1 Detroit Tigers

 Sabathia (3.00 ERA, 19-8 record, 1.23 whip, 230 strikeouts) has been a very good pitcher this season for the Yankees, but its hard for me to go against the Detroit Tiger's Verlander. Verlander has really dominated this year, posting a 2.40 ERA, 250 strikeouts, 0.92 whip along with his 24-5 record. Sabathia has struggled a bit in his last 4 starts by going 0-4 and generating a 7.56 ERA. Verlander has been pretty decent against New York, going 4-3 posting a 3.97 ERA against a very good batting team.

  Both teams have had a lot of success this season batting. It will be interesting to see how two great batting teams do against two great pitchers. I think Detroit takes this in a close one.

  Sorry this post is so plain today. I will get another post up tonight around 10 or 11 o'clock central time. I will have more than one pick tonight. Today I just got a late start.
