Blog Updates

New picks will be up after Christmas. I know this blog has been slacking this month, but next month it will be back to normal. I was taking it a little easy after writing almost daily for almost 4 months straight and managing some responsibilities.

Thanks for the support and good luck the rest of the month!

December 22nd Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1: Missouri Tigers

I like the Missouri Tigers to beat the Illinois Fighting Illini at a
neutral site game that is in Missouri. This game is a fierce rivalry,
and Missouri has won the past two meetings. Missouri is a much better
offensive team, ranking second in the nation in points per game and
field goal percentage. Meanwhile, Illinois does not rank in the top
100 of any of the major statistical categories. Illinois best win was
probably Gonzaga, while the Tigers have beaten Cal by 39 points, and
have won every game this year by double digits. This game may be a
little closer, but the tigers will win.

Pick #2 Baylor
This is going to be short and sweet. I think Baylor should beat St
Marys. St Marys is a good team and a good program. They are tough to
beat in their hometown of Moraga. But this game is in Nevada, and
Baylor is just too much for the Gaels. St Marys has lost 11 out of
their last 14 games versus ranked opponents and I expect much of the
same from the Gaels. Go with Baylor.

December 19th Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 Frank Gore more rushing yards in 1st half.

I like Frank Gore to have more rushing yards than Rashard Mendenhall. A couple things working against Gore, the 49ers always defer when they win the toss, and you can expect Kendell Hunter to get some carries. But, the 49ers have the best run defense in the NFL, and one of the best in NFL history. They still have yet to yield a rushing TD and have not given up a 100 yard rusher in 35 consecutive games. I expect the niners to try to slow down the steelers pass rush by pounding the ball, and  I expect Gore to our run Mendenhall.

December 18th Picks

Christian's Picks:

1. Packers: Wins by 15+ Points

The Packers may never lose again, let's face it. They are like the Patriots in that they never hold back and always try to score, whether they're up by 1 or by 35. Kyle Orton will be starting for a shaky Chiefs team who just fired their coach, Todd Haley. Teams never do too well in the week after firing their coach. Greg Jennings will be out for the Packers but this shouldn't affect Rodgers too much because he has other weapons like Nelson and Finley to throw too. If the Packers can beat the Raiders by 30 points after benching all their starters in the second half, they can beat the Chiefs by at least 15.

2. Detroit Lions

The Lions are a better team hands down. They will have Suh back and with him, Vanden Bosch, and Fairley, they will make Carson Palmer sweat. The Lions need a win here and they need the Cowboys, Bears, and Seahawks to lose ONE of their three remaining games to make the playoffs. The Raiders likely need to win out to make the playoffs which they probably won't do, starting with this game. Stafford is simply going to tear apart their disappointing defense (18th in passing yards allowed and 29th in rushing yards allowed). The Raiders let up 27.2 PPG and score only 22.3 while the Lions score 28.2 PPG and allow 23.4 PPG. Lions win this 23-17.

December 16th Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawks win

Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawks should win the Division 3 national football championship  fairly easily. Both teams are undefeated and have played each other for the national championship for the sixth straight year. Mount Union has had the better, more impressive run in the playoffs, but, I still believe Wisconsin Whitewater is more talented. Wisconsin Whitewater will use their superior defense and will win the championship.

Christian's Picks

1. Any Other Result (Köln @ Bayern München)

So, at first glance, I really like the AOR pick. Regardless, Bayern is still one of the best teams in the world. Needless to say, Köln, is not.... There are a few interesting stats which may sway your decision in this game. The last four times these teams have played, including last year, here were the results:Köln beat Bayern 3-2 @ home, They drew twice 0-0 at Bayern, and then once again, Köln drew them 1-1 at home. Last year, Köln was also in 10th in the table (as they are now) and Bayern München was still their dominant self. This year, Bayern München lost back to back to Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05. Interestingly enough, Köln just came off a 1-1 draw against Mainz 05, the team who BEAT Bayern München! I think that Köln's Poloski will be a large center of attention for Bayern München on account of him scoring five goals in the last three matches. Köln also really needs a draw here so they will be on their "ultra-defensive" self, trying to contain Bayern München as much as possible. Since this is virtually impossible, it will at least stymie them from scoring goals for a bit..... Hopefully. Anyways, I think Bayern München wins by one goal here.

2. Yes: A Point Scored in the first 6 Minutes (Montana @ Sam Houston St.)

To say I did a lot of research on this game would be a lie. However, I just have a feeling that the offenses will come out scoring. In both of their last games, there was a score within the first 6 minutes (At 5:38 in and then 5:54 in). Though it was close, it still counts. Both these teams have potent offenses which can score so therefore, I think one of the teams will score early. Good luck!

December 15th Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 FK Rubin Kazan win or draw

FK Rubin Kazan should be able to win, and most definitely at least draw with PAOK Salonika. I feel like the Russian side has played better competition and has more skill than the Greek league that PAOK Salonika competes in. PAOK has already clinched a spot in the next round, while Rubin Kazan must win or draw to advance. Kazan has much more incentive to play hard, and advance with a draw, therefore, if the game is tied late they will most probably defensive and settle for the draw. I would pick FK Rubin Kazan for the win or draw.

Pick #2 Atlanta Falcons win by double digits.

I like the Atlanta Falcons to win this game on Thursday night by double digits. In general, Atlanta plays very well at home. In addition, road teams have not faired well on the short week playing on thursday. Atlanta should start feeling desperate as the wild card in the NFC is becoming more competitive. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have started to have some chemistry, and I expect them to put connect on some big plays. Meanwhile, I expect the Falcons to stack the box and stop Maurice Jones Drew, forcing an inept Blaine Gabbert to beat them. The Falcons are one of the best teams at stopping the run. I tend to under rate the Jags as I did this last sunday, so pick at your own risk, but I do believe the Falcons will beat them by double digits.

Christian's Picks:

1. @ San Jose Sharks

The Sharks are tough to beat at home in the Shark Tank. The odds are highly in favor of San Jose at -195, almost two to one and they are 73% to win (according to a simulation). Granted, hockey odds don't really mean too much because anything can happen (Like when the Blue Jackets beat Vancouver a few nights ago). However, these odds are pretty hard to bet against. Whether this is on SFTC or not, San Jose is still the much better team and should definitely win this. They have lost two straight OT games and Niemi will have a nice performance against Duchene and company tonight. The Shark's GAA is 2.39 while the Av's GAA is 3.03. Also, the Sharks score 2.68 GPG and the Avs score 2.48 GPG. Every stat leads me to believe that the Sharks will win this 3-1. Good Luck!

December 14th Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 Cincinnati Bearcat

The Cincinnati Bearcats should beat the Wright State Raiders. Though Cincinnati will be missing some players from suspension, after their fight with Xavier, they still have enough talent to beat the Wright State Raiders. Wright State only averages 55.2 points per game and is not in the top 300 in the nation in any of the major statistical categories. Cincinnati will be looking to move past the fighting incident and I expect a strong effort from them in a close victory over Wright State.

Pick #2 Eastern Washington Win or Single Digit loss

I expect the Eastern Washington-UCLA game to be closer than double digits. Eastern Washington is a good team that has a above average offense. The Eagles played tough at Gonzaga only losing by 8 points. They also only lost by 12 points to Oregon, and they blew out UC Davis and Hawaii. UCLA meanwhile is down as a program as a whole and suspended their best player Reeves Nelson for the year. UCLA does not rank in the top 200 in any major statistical categories. I expect Eastern Washington to at least make their game with UCLA a single digit game.

Christian's Picks

1. @ Lazio: Win

Lazio is a capable team from Spain while Sporting Lisbon is from Portugal. Portuguese teams are normally better than any Spaniard team and in this case, it's true. However, the main catch is that Sporting has already advanced and they have absolutely nothing to play for. Therefore, they will start a weak squad for this game. On the other hand, Lazio has everything to play for seeing as how they need a win here at home to advance to the next round. Even though Sporting beat Lazio 2-1 at home earlier in the UEFA Europa League play, this will be different. Lazio is nice at home and they are favorites at around -185 and 63.7% to win. Lazio will win this.

December 13th Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 San Jose Sharks

I like the San Jose Sharks to travel to Denver, and defeat the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center. The Sharks are the much better team, and they are trying to end a two game losing streak. The Sharks played a good game last time out against the Blackhawks and lost a tough game in overtime after giving up a tying goal late. Meanwhile, the Avalanche are on a three game losing streak of their own, and are trending down. The sharks have won 10 out of the last 13 games against the Avalanche, and that trend should continue.

Christian's pick

1. Minnesota Wild

The Wild have a) the best record in hockey and b) are on the longest current win streak, equaling 7 in a row. During this seven-game winning streak, the Wild have outscored their opponents by 13 goals and have had a GAA of 1.71. Also, 5 of the 7 games have been on the road including the last 4 which were against Phoenix, L.A., San Jose, and Anaheim; all capable hockey teams. Some notable injuries for the Wild are Devin Setoguchi, Marek Zidlicky, and Josh Harding. The only two injuries that will impact this game are Zidlicky and Setoguchi because Backstrom will be good to go in net and he will be backed by a very capable rookie in Hackett. Also, The Wild will be getting back Latendresse and Clutterbuck for this game as well. For the Jets, they may be without Dustin Byfuglien who, as we all know, is a hard-hitting enforcer vital to this Winnipeg team. The reason some may be skeptical about this game is because Winnipeg is a tough place to win and this same Jets team ended the Bruins' long-winning streak at home. This is most likely why the odds aren't very supportive of Minnesota. This is a good pick to take and there really is not a logical reason to take Winnipeg here. Wild win it!

December 12th Picks

Christian's Picks

1. Manchester City: Win or Draw

I really like City here to at LEAST draw Chelsea. I think SFTC is putting this on here because just in case Chelsea wins, ESPN wants credit for breaking people's streaks. Oh, and also because it's on ESPN 2 and as we all know, ESPN puts on every game they televise on the Streak. Here are the initial reasons to be just a bit skeptical and why this game is on here... Chelsea just beat Valencia 3-0 at home and Newcastle 3-0 away. However, they have also lost to Liverpool twice at home recently and to Bayer Leverkusen away in UEFA play. Now, for the reasons to pick Manchester City... They are without a doubt, the best team in the EPL with a +35 GD in just 14 matches. They are coming off of a very nice win against Bayern Munchen 2-0, a 5-1 win against Norwich City, and a 1-0 away win at Arsenal. It's not like Manchester City is cold and Chelsea is hot so there's no incentive to see a trap in this game. Also, according to these odds, Manchester City is 61% to win/draw. I think that Manchester City will either win this 1-0 or draw 1-1. If Chelsea somehow wins this game, I wouldn't be too upset because it would be a pretty fluky game if that happened. With some confidence, Go City!

Streakhelp's Pick

Any Other Result (Oregon vs. Portland State)

I don't feel great about this pick, but there really isn't a lot I like for today anyway. However, Portland State doesn't seem to be as much of a “creampuff” team as I originally thought. At 5-3, Portland State ranks 17th in rebounds, and 53rd in points per game (76.6), pretty respectable stats. Portland State has struggled on the road though, sitting at 0-3 and coming off a 93-87 loss to Utah Valley on the road.

Oregon (5-2) has fared better against opponents overall, with losses to Vanderbilt on the road (78-64) and BYU at home (79-65). Offensively I think these teams are pretty even (so far from what I've seen), but Oregon's defense has a better edge. I'm honestly not sure Oregon can win by more than 10 if Portland State were to bring their “A” game (or if Portland was at home). Oregon averages about 15 assists (63rd in nation) and shoots around 47% from the field (55th in nation), these categories have been pretty decent for the Ducks. This should be pretty close. If Portland loses, I think it will be right around 15 (15-17), but I have more confidence in the under. AOR for me.

December 11th Picks

Ryan's Picks:

Pick #1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win an in-state road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bucs expect to get their starting quarterback Josh Freeman back from injury. The Jaguars are a bad team who have already fired their head coach Jack Del Rio this year. Their starting quarterback is Blaine Gabbert who has been the worse of the rookie qbs who have started this season. In addition, the Jaguars have one of the worst offenses in the league. Even though the bucs have under achieved, I expect them to be able to run the ball and play good enough defense to beat the jags.

Pick #2 North Carolina Tar Heels

I like the North Carolina Tar Heels to beat the Charlotte 49ers for the NCAA Men Division 1 soccer championship. The Tar Heels are the number 1 seed while the 49ers upset Creighton to get into the finals. The Heels had the better regular season (21-2-2)  and played in the tougher conference. They have much more talent than Charlotte and I expect the North Carolina Tar Heels to defeat the Charlotte 49ers comfortably.

December 9th Picks

Streakhelper's picks

Pick #1 Creighton Bluejays

I can't think of one good reason why not to pick Creighton. At a -520 line, Creighton is one of the most favored picks I have seen on Streak for the Cash. The 49ers have done pretty well so far at 16-4-3, and has done a good job of finding goals so far in the college cup (11 goals in 4 games, 3 were penalty kicks), but I just don't see them overcoming Creighton.  I know this post is pretty short and straightforward, but I'd risk any streak on this, win or lose. This is a game I wouldn't mind losing a streak on, it doesn't get much better. Good luck whatever you do though.

December 7th Picks

December 6th results:

Streakhelp's Pick- Utah State: Win (63-54)

Streakhelper's record for month 1-0

Christian's Pick- Valencia W,D, Lose by 1: Loss (0-3)

Christian's record for the month 10-7

Ryan's record for the month- 8-1

Combined record for December- 19-8
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Christian's Picks

1. @ Manchester City: Win

This is going to be a great game! Here are the situations: City needs a win here at home and also, some help is needed by Villareal to take away some points from Napoli or else any win against Bayern Munchen will be pointless. Bayern Munchen will most likely not be starting their best club, seeing as how they have already advanced and have nothing to worry about. The risk of possible injury outweighs the want of winning this game to eliminate a dangerous opponent in Man City. If Bayern Munchen starts Neuer in goal, this will be a much more difficult match for Man City to pull out a win in. Manchester City is favored to win at 58.5% and this is seriously the first time I have ever seen arguably the best team in the world, Bayern Munchen, have the Draw option on SFTC. I still think that Man City will win and give themselves the best chance they have to advance and just hope for some sort of fix to be in place because according to the Napoli chairman, "I can feel strange things going on surrounding the Villarreal game - princes and sheikhs are getting agitated.". So Man City will win 3-1 with Aguero and Dzeko netting one each.

2. @ FC Basel: Win, Draw, Lose by 1

Manchester United needs a draw to advance past the group stages. Javier Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov are out injured but Wayne "Wonder Goal" Rooney will be playing of course. FC Basel actually drew United 3-3 at Old Trafford which is impressive enough to draw, but throw in the fact that they scored three goals on them and it adds up to a pretty impressive result. This match is at home for FC Basel and United will be happy with a draw here, at most a one-goal win. FC Basel will definitely want to spoil United's chances just like the horrific accident in Portugal against Benfica six years ago where they were eliminated in group stages. Manchester United is only 57.8% to win by only one so this gives me confidence that FC Basel can cover -1.5.... This will end in a 2-2 Draw.

December 6th Picks

 Yesterday's results:

Christian's Picks-

Orduspor win or draw- Loss
San Diego Chargers- Win

Record for day 1-1
Christian's record for month- 4-3

Overall for December- 12-4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Streakhelp's Picks:

Pick #1 Utah State Aggies

With the Utah Valley Wolverines 0-4 on the road, It's hard to trust them going into this game. Both teams are pretty bad, but Utah State has fared better overall against slightly better competition, playing teams such as Weber State (5-1) and beating BYU (6-2) 69-62. Utah Valley lacks a quality win. Out of Utah Valley's 5 wins, 2 of them (NIU and Grambling State) have yet to win a game this season. 2 others (SIM and HAS?) had no information on them in ESPN's website (so obviously they are pretty quiet teams). Their only possible significant win, was to the UMKC Kangaroos (4-5) who seem to be on about the same level as Utah Valley. As I said earlier, both teams are pretty bad, but considering the Aggies are at home, Utah Valley is 0-4 on the road, the Aggies played slightly harder competition thus far this season, and Utah Valley has yet to snag a significant win; I would go with Utah State. Good luck whatever you do.

 Christian's Picks:

1. Valencia: Win, Draw, Lose by 1

Here are a few situations involved in this game.... If there is a 0-0 draw, Chelsea moves on to the next round of UEFA. Any other draw means that Valencia moves on instead. The only thing this tells me is that this is not a meaningless game for either club. Valencia will be trying very hard to at least score once and if they can achieve that, Chelsea will need to score 3 goals in order to cover the pick. If Valencia is able to score once and the score is 1-1 at that point, they will sub in many defensemen in order to maintain that draw so they can advance. I just don't see Chelsea blowing Valencia out here. Also, in September, these two clubs drew 1-1 at Valencia. Yes this is in Chelsea, but this game has much more meaning and will undoubtedly be a closer match than people see on paper. I see a 1-1 draw or 2-1 win for Chelsea.

December 5th Picks

 Updated Records (as of 12/5/2011):

Ryan's record for December: 8-1
            record for November: 7-1
                                   Overall: 15-2

Christian's record for December: 3-2
                 Record for November: 7-4
                                         Overall: 10-6

                                         Record combined: 25-7

Christian's Picks

1. Orduspor: Win or Draw

I don't have too much information on this game which could sway one to pick Orduspor over Beşiktaş except for a few details..... Orduspor is only 4 points behind 6th ranked Beşiktaş in the Super Lig table and their GD's are +3 and +2 favoring Beşiktaş..... This game will be much closer than people may think based on the odds (60% chance for Beşiktaş to win and 97% of people are picking them on the streak). Orduspor has had some impressive matches including a 2-1 win against 7th place Eskişehirspor, a draw at 5th place Istanbul BB, and a 1-0 win against 3rd place Manisaspor. I, for some reason, have a feeling about this game and I can see a draw or even a possible 2-1 Orduspor shocker. If this is wrong, don't hate me for taking a risk but if this is right, gimme some props! ;)

2. San Diego Chargers

I seriously pick the Chargers week after week to cover and they always disappoint. However, they are a late-season team and expect Philip Rivers to channel his inner Aaron Rodgers and toss a few TD's over the Jags' okay defense. They'll try to establish an offense with Tolbert coming out of the backfield for some give-and-go short passes because Posluszny will be blitzing all game and forcing Rivers to throw short. This game won't be pretty and will probably end up being much closer than it very well should but I see the Chargers winning on a last minute drive. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Go Chargers, Go!" (If you don't know what I am talking about, first, be ashamed and secondly, look it up online. It's great!).

December 4th Picks

Ryans Picks

Pick #1 New York Jets

I like the Jets to defeat the Washington Redskins. The Jets have not been playing their best football lately, but even a D effort should be enough to beat this Redskins team. I expect Rex Grossmen to turn the ball over a couple times to ball hawking corners Antonio Cromartie and Darelle Revis. Mark Sanchez also played a very strong game last week and I think he will continue that today. Look for the desperate Jets team to take care of business versus the Skins.

Pick # 2 49ers win by 15 points

I expect the 49ers to crush the St louis Rams. Word is that Sam Bradford probably wont play in this game. That leaves Steven Jackson as the Rams only offense. The only problem is that it is impossible to run on the 49ers. The 49ers have not given up a rushing touchdown this season and havnt allowed a 100 yard rusher in 30 games. Look for the 49ers to sack AJ Feely as the Rams starting two tackles are out. I expect the niners to win in a blowout.

Pick #3 Saints win by double digits.

The saints should be able to win by double digits versus the Lions in New Orleans. The Saints will be jacked up for a nationally televised game at home in the dome. The Lions best defensive player Suh is suspended for this game. The Saints recently put up 62 points, so scoring enough to blow the lions out will not be an issue. Look for Drew Brees and co to win by double digits.

Christian's Picks

1. Patriots: Wins by 20+ Points

I'd like to start off by saying that the Colts are the worst team in the NFL and they won't get any better. I said this same thing last time with my Panthers pick and what happened? Painter blew it not once, but TWICE! This is a home game for the Patriots and they are well-known for not taking it easy on their opponents. Hence when they threw for 4 straight downs in the red zone with under a minute left and winning by a few scores.... Tom Brady is simply amazing and will throw for 400+ yards and at least 3 TD's. Also, it's nice that this pick includes a 20 and 21 point win option because if it was 22+ points, the pick might be a bit harder to predict. I'd seriously be surprised if Indy scores two touchdowns. Patriots win 45-13

December 3rd Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 Kentucky
The Kentucky Wildcats should beat the North Carolina Tar Heels in what is probably the college game of the year at Rupp Arena. The game is inLexington, Kentucky, which is a big deal when the teams are as evenly matched as these two teams. Not only are these teams evenly matched, they also play similar up-tempo styles. I expect Kentucky's guards to be a little more efficient at pushing the tempo. Heels freshmen P.J. Hairston will not play in this game which will hurt them. Look for the #1 team in the nation, Kentucky, to play like it and to get a win.

Pick #2 Oklahoma State

I like the Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the Oklahoma Sooners in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I believe that this is going to be a high scoring game, where the Cowboys outlast the Sooners. The loss of the Sooners top WR Ryan Broyles is really going to hurt them in this match up. Furthermore, I don't believeOklahoma can stop the Brandon Weeden to Justin Blackmon connection, although few teams can. Oklahoma St. has more to play for in this game, as they can still reach the national title game, while Oklahoma cannot. I expect the Cowboys to feed off the home crowd and to end their losing streak to Oklahoma.

December 2nd Picks

Ryan's Picks:

Pick #1 St. Pauli Win or Draw

I was surprised to see that St. Pauli had the win or draw option. I believe that St. Pauli has a good chance to defeat Paderborn straight up, let alone draw with them. St Pauli is currently ranked third in the table (35 pts 16+ goal differential) while Paderborn is in fifth place (32 pts 11+ goal differential). St. Pauli is a strong roadside having earned points in 6 of 7 road games thus far. I would go with St. Pauli win or draw for the green.

Pick #2 Stanford Cardinal

The Stanford Cardinal are the favorite to win the Women's soccer College Cup. The Cardinal have lost in the College Cup for the last three years. They are the more talented and experienced team. One note of caution, Florida State plays in the ACC which is the best conference in the nation. Other thanStanford, the other three teams in the final four are from the ACC. As a result, Stanford playing in the Pac 12 had a goal differential of +60 while Florida State had a goal differential of +26 in the ACC. like the Cardinal for the Green.

Pick # 3 Syracuse Orange

I like the Syracuse Orange to defeat the Florida Gators, at home. The Orange must find a way to deal with the distraction of the firing of their assistant coach Bernie Fine. Meanwhile, Florida had an impressive showing earlier this year in their only loss to #1 ranked Ohio St. The only area I see Florida having a major advantage in this game is rebounding. I expect the Orange to focus on this and take advantage of Florida's bad defense. Look for the Orange to use the crowd to their advantage, and win a close game.

Christian's Picks

1. St. Pauli: Win or Draw

I'd like to start out by saying that St. Pauli is actually favored to win this game straight up which makes me raise an eyebrow as to why they also have the draw option.... Paderborn is only 36% to win according to the odds. St. Pauli and Paderborn are 3rd and 5th respectively with a +16 GD and a +11 GD. There are no recent games which can be compared to this matchup that are relevant so I am simply going off of the feeling that there's a reason why St. Pauli is favored away from home. I see a boring, low-scoring draw. I would be shocked if Paderborn wins this..... This will end either 0-0 or 1-1.

2. AC Milan: Win

This is a tough one to call, it really is. However, I feel confidently that Genoa just can not pull this one off. AC Milan has the best offense in Serie A undoubtedly and I definitely see Ibrahimovic scoring one here. Dude's a beast. Just to express how potent their offense is, Milan has scored at least once in their last 10 of 12 matches. With Milan's goaltender, Abbiati, who has been pretty nice as of recently, I can definitely see them blanking Genoa 1-0. The teams are pretty even but with Milan slightly favored on the road, I like them to squeak out a win here.

December 1st Picks

Ryan's Picks

Pick #1 South Carolina Gamecocks.

The South Carolina Gamecocks should defeat the Providence Friars in the Big East/ SEC Challenge. The Gamecocks are 2-4 while the Friars are 5-2. Consequently, at this time, 95% of streak for the cash players are picking the Friars. This is a classic trap game set up by ESPN and the streak for the cash team. The reason the Friars have a better record than the Gamecocks is because they have played a much easier schedule. Providence does not play much defense and they will be exploited versus the Gamecocks. The Friars also do not have any depth, as they had four players play the entire game in their previous game versus Holy Cross. Go with the Gamecocks for the Green

Christian's Picks

1. @ Twente Enschede: Win

Twente is a nice little club from the Netherlands Eredivisie currently in 3rd with a +20 GD and Fulham is one of the most disappointing teams from the EPL this year (15th place, -1 GD). Fulham's Clint Dempsey (one of the EPL's rising stars of last year) is having an awful year and expect for him to continue this slump. Twente has done nicely in their last 4 relevant UEFA matches, 3-1-0 including a 4-1 home win against Polish team Wisla Krakow and two straight wins against Danish league's Odense BK. Twente is nice at home while Fulham is in fact, very bad away. This match is set up for a Twente win at home (They drew 1-1 in Fulham). Pick the Dutch for a win!

2. @ DePaul Blue Demons

DePaul is perfectly set up here for an underdog win against Ole Miss. DePaul is an underrated team who has come off some nice wins against Arizona State and Texas Tech. They also lost by one point to a pretty decent Minnesota squad. DePaul is very nice at home and this will be Ole Miss's first true away game and they are not yet used to that feel of "away-ness". Ole Miss's only capable opponent was at home against Marquette where they got slaughtered by 30 points. DePaul will win in a relatively close one.
